This is my seventh Episode of Answers For Real Men. This is another interview with someone I just recently met. We met at LA Fitness here in Phoenix, in of all place the “Sauna!” We just started a conversation that turned into one about men, spirituality and the confusion in our society. I thought he would be a wonderful guest on the show and he is! His name is Jeremy Shapiro and he is a wealth of knowledge in the area of science and spirituality. As the facilitator of “The Human Radio Project” https://www.thehumanradio.org/index.html he helps guide individuals through the merger of science and spirituality.
Jeremy M. Shapiro B.S., M. Ed is an eternal student of the Universe above and below, inside and out alike. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in History from Portland State University in 2008. The professorial climate at the time allowed Jeremy to pursue his heart’s desire by honing his academic foci on the ancient world—specifically researching Ancient Egyptian religion and burial custom, as well as modern and ancient comparative religious-philosophical studies.
Jeremy earned his Masters Degree in Education with Distinction from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona in 2012. He spent the last several years of his residence researching the cultural and ideological influences present in American schooling and society since the Industrial Revolution, as well as the forces at work conditioning people to think and act as they do both individually and culturally speaking.
Jeremy has studied under spiritual elders representing several individual cultures of the original people who occupied what is currently known as the United States. He has also practiced alongside high ranking members of several initiatory schools and societies throughout North America and Western Europe. Jeremy’s personal journey includes overcoming his own blockages of consciousness with the instructional tools students are provided…which are the same tools he continues to employ in his own life as part of his ongoing attainment cultivation.
I would like to share a favorite quote of Jeremy by Comic Bill Hicks:
“The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it’s real because that’s how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it’s very brightly colored, and it’s very loud, and it’s fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, “Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?” And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, “Hey, don’t worry; don’t be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride.” And we … kill those people. “Shut him up! I’ve got a lot invested in this ride, shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry, look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real.” It’s just a ride. But we always kill the good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok … But it doesn’t matter, because it’s just a ride. And we can change it any time we want. It’s only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. Just a simple choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one. Here’s what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.”― Bill Hicks
Jeremy is truly a special person who works hard at his craft. I’m very proud to have met him and to be able to “Lock Arms” with him as a Man!
